Fruit Gleaning

Are you buried in fruit from the trees in your backyard? Are your friends and family tired of eating the abundance of fruit that your trees are producing? Then Fresno State Food Recovery Network is the place for you! Our gleaning program will come out to your property and gather all the fruit available and then deliver it to non-profit organizations that will be donating the fruit to those in need.

How it works:

Our team of student volunteers will come out with our buckets, bins, and bags and gather as much fruit as possible. Depending on the size and amount of trees available, a gleaning can take anywhere from an hour to three hours.

Where does the fruit go to:

The fruit we gather will either go to the Fresno State Student Cupboard, Fresno Community Food Bank, Bulldog Pantry, Poverello House, and/or the El Dorado Park Resource Center as well as other organizations we are in contact with.

What you can do to help:

If you have any trees that need to be gleaned, please provide your information in the gleaning request form below. Please note that we also do not climb ladders, and use fruit pickers to reach tall heights. So if there is anything our volunteers need to beware of, may it be the immense height of your trees, or any dogs or bees on site, please include it in the comments section as well! We will get back to you as soon as possible to work out all the details in order to make this a wonderful experience for you. Thank you for being apart of our organization and for helping us feed the Fresno community.
